I am fascinated by the image and costume of Oriental and Asian women, and have traveled to China, Buthan, Indonesia, Thailand, India, and Morocco gathering drawings which have become paintings. To me, the culture and tribes of Native Americans are Oriental as well, and are held with great reverence in my heart. I love the tri-cultural atmosphere and the big sky country around Taos, New Mexico where I have lived for 25 years - that feeling of freedom has much to do with the Art I create.
The Architecture of cathedrals and grand buildings also holds special interest for me, and I have visited many of the famous European sites as well as those in Mexico. If I stayed in my studio for the rest of my life, I have enough drawings to turn into paintings from the world over, that I will never live long enough to complete.
I am foremost an art educator, and feel an obligation to share what I know, and help develop "art community" where ever I go. There is a great need for Art Awareness in the world, because it brings peace within and helps deveop a quietness, a self-esteem and worthiness of the soul. There will never be peace in the world until individuals are able to find this in themselves.
To this end, I founded in 2001,Touchstone Foundation, Inc. a 501C-3 - "Stepping Stones to Creative Learning," which fosters creative education and cultural exchange programs worldwide.
Please enjoy my art and know that every sale benefits the foundation and the joy of creating.
